The summer was high,
I see the brilliant colors in my mind’s eye.
Do you remember the times that we had?
Laughing and loving while you were my friend?
Watching the water as the tide rushes in,
Wanting to say words, but never knowing where to begin?
Now that I am older and sadly alone,
The words come to me that I had always known.
Those few and precious words that I know in my heart to be true,
I love you and I miss you.
